Lately, I've been trying to channel my inner Rory Gilmore, not because I want to live someone else's life, but because there's something about her love for learning, writing, ambition, and having big dreams that I really admire.
I want to romanticize the little things again. Studying with a cup of tea beside me. Spending hours in a bookstore. Writing down my thoughts in a journal. Getting excited about a new book. Taking my education seriously and reminding myself that the work I'm putting in now is building the life I want later.
Being a Rory girl is more than carrying a book everywhere you go. It's about being curious. It's about wanting to know more, dreaming bigger, and not being afraid to care deeply about your future.
So here's to late-night studying, messy notebooks, stacks of books, coffee dates with myself, ambitious goals, and believing that there's always another chapter waiting for me. ๐๐
Maybe I don't have everything figured out yet, and that's okay.
I'm still writing my story as my life goes on. ๐
๐ How to Channel Your Inner Rory Gilmore ๐
-
Read, read, read.
Keep a book with you and make reading part of your everyday routine. Try classics, contemporary novels, biographies, or anything that genuinely interests you. -
Take your education seriously.
Stay curious outside of class, ask questions, take good notes, and actually enjoy learning—not just getting the grade. -
Start journaling.
Write down your thoughts, dreams, goals, random observations, and little moments from your day. -
Romanticize your study sessions.
Make studying feel special with a cozy playlist, cute stationery, a warm drink, and a clean workspace. -
Become curious about everything.
Learn about subjects outside your usual interests. History, politics, literature, art, current events—let yourself go down random little research rabbit holes. -
Work toward your big dreams.
Have goals that excite you. Break them into smaller steps and keep going even when progress feels slow. -
Write more.
Start a blog, write essays, keep a journal, or simply write about things you're passionate about. You don't have to be perfect. -
Build your own style.
Take inspiration from Rory's classic, cozy look while making it your own. Think sweaters, skirts, cardigans, ballet flats, headbands, and simple accessories. -
Spend time offline.
Put your phone down sometimes. Read, walk around, visit a library, listen to music, or sit somewhere cozy and just think. -
Stay true to yourself. ๐
The most important part isn't copying Rory. It's taking the qualities you admire—her curiosity, ambition, love of books, and determination—and making them part of your story.
✨ Rory Gilmore energy: a good book, big dreams, a notebook full of thoughts, and the belief that your future is worth working for.
